    To coincide with tonight’s opening reception for LSM’s Fresh Air Fresheners exhibit at the Paper Kite Gallery, Alicia Grega-Pikul has written an article for the Electric City paper in which she recently interviewed LSM for.  You can read the article here.

    This Friday, June 18, will be the opening for LSM’s show Fresh Air Fresheners at the Paper Kite Press & Gallery in Kingston, PA.  This exhibit is the first to show the entire series together.  All works are photo-documentations of unauthorized and authorized public installations.

    The reception will be from 6-8PM and you can find directions and more information at their website at www.wordpainting.com.

    On newsstands now in the Southeastern U.S. and major cities is the June/July/August edition of the Southeast Gallery Guide. The cover story is on the 24th Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition in which two of LSM’s Fresh Air Fresheners are included in. On page 7 of the gallery guide, Troy Tuttle’s photograph of Fresh Air Freshener (Fruit Punch) is hoisted by crane against the North Carolina sky.

    LSM has been chosen as 1 of 9 finalists for the 24th Rosen Outdoor Sculpture Competition & Exhibition at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.  The list of all 9 finalists and examples of their work can be found online at www.rosensculpture.org.

    All sculptures were installed on April 16 and will remain on view until March, 2011.

    On Saturday, July 24, from 10am-12pm, there will be the 24th Rosen Sculpture Walk. This guided tour of the sculptures will begin at the Catherine Smith Gallery located in Farthing Auditorium and will include the public announcement of the winner of the competition and the revealing of the catalog.     Nominated by two professors at The University of Michigan School of Art & Design, LSM was awarded as a 2010 Roman J. Witt Visiting Artist. Today, he will travel to Ann Arbor to spend a few days working with students on their work, assisting in critiques, and presenting lectures on his own work.

    This Thursday, March 4, from 5-7pm, there will be a closing reception for Pennsyltucky: Are We There Yet? at the art gallery at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. The exhibition features the work of Christian Herr, Jason Lahr, Bill Rodgers, and Lee S. Millard.

    Bloomsburg Art Walk-In

    Tonight, from 4-9pm, downtown Bloomsburg, PA, will host the Bloomsburg Art Walk-In.  The Walk-In will feature work by over 50 local and regional artists (including LSM) that will be selling their art or just exhibiting it. Work by Bloomsburg University faculty, staff, current and past students will be prominently exhibited.  In the basement, which used to be a bowling alley, BU Art Professor Greg Mueller’s Sculpture class will display their Bowl Show, which shows students’ interpretations of the bowling pin made from various materials.  In addition to the artwork, there will be live music as well as food from many local restaurants and eateries.

    The Art Walk-In is tonight only and is free, and open to the public of all ages.

    The Bloomsburg Art Walk-In will be located at the Moose Exchange at 203 W. Main St., Bloomsburg, PA.

    This Monday marked the opening of Pennsyltucky: Are We There Yet?, a four-person exhibition at Clarion University. Curated by Art Department chair Mark Franchino, Pennsyltucky showcases the work of Christian Herr, Jason Lahr, Lee S. Millard, and Bill Rodgers.

    Pennsyltucky: Are We There Yet? will be on view at the art gallery at Clarion University from January 25 – March 5, 2010. There will be a closing reception on Thursday, March 4, from 5-7pm.

    Millard recently posed as a lion tamer for artist, and fellow Marywood University colleague, Ted Michalowski. Michalowski’s current exhibition of drawings inspired by the posters of Poland, Michalowski CYRK, is now on display at The Scranton Club.
